Manly Residential addition

We commenced the job by doing a site measure which is done in conjunction with the structural and architectural drawings to determine the location of each member. This Visit gives a good insight into how we will carry out the installation prior the arrival of steel on site.

Fabrication required the welding of reo bars every 450 centres to the inside face of all 310UB due to concrete being poured inside. Cuts were minimised on site by pre-cutting mitres In the factory and using pre-cut stock lengths we were able to minimise fabrication time.

Due to the close proximity to the ocean coupled with the majority of the steel being exposed. Galvanising was required for 30 metres of 310ub & 11 metres of 200ub. There was a further 9 metres of 200ub which only needed priming due to being used internally.

The installation involved lifting each individual piece into place and site welding once in situ. When all the welding is complete the welds are dressed back flush giving a non-visible join. We re-instated the galvanising finish by applying an epoxy paint.

We were proud and most importantly our client was very satisfied with the end result.
